In Short

  • The incident happened in a Turkish football match in February 2020
  • The dog had entered the ground just before the start of the match
  • Footballers tried to take the ball away from the uninvited guest but the dog 'dribbled' beautifully

The year 2020 would be remembered for not many good and happy moments due to the coronavirus pandemic which brought the world to a standstill by the time March arrived. The situation after months of lockdown worldwide has started to improve but the occurrence of new coronavirus cases is still common.

Players from all the sports have no choices other than being in a secure bio-bubble which has started to take a toll on their mental health. Athletes contracting Covid-19, breaching the bubble rules and other things like that are the new normal now but the scenario was totally different when the year begun. Even a dog could enter a professional soccer match and showcase its dribbling and tackling skills for a while.

16 days to go before this year ends and the time is just apt to recall an incident when an excited stray dog gatecrashed a professional Turkish football match just before its start.

The dog pounced on the ball straightaway and wasted no time to show its dribbling and tackling skills. The enthusiastic dog wagged his tail throughout his stay on the ground and in fact, even after it.

Footballers tried to get the ball away from the dog but their attempt proved futile in front of the 'maestro'.
