This is the hilarious moment a dog fooled a driver into thinking it had injured its hind legs by dragging them in the dirt.

San Eang was driving through a village in Banteay Meanchey province, in northwest Cambodia when he saw the stray pooch in the middle of the road.

San Eang and his son began filming as they stopped the car and  got out to help the animal which appeared to be partially paralysed.

The clip shows the fawn dog struggling to drag herself forward across the road using only her front legs.

San Eang said afterwards that they had planned to take the dog to a nearby vets.

However, as San moved closer, the dog stood up and started walking as if it had been just acting the whole time.

They started filming and they got out of the car to see if they could help the injured dog by giving her proper medical care or bringing her to a vet

After realising they had been fooled by the stray dog, San Eang and his son burst out laughing.

He said: 'Right when we thought we could rescue an injured animal, this dog played a tricks on us. What a pity.'

He added that the dog may have only been scratching an itch on its stomach that's why it was dragging its body in an unusual way.

Eang said: 'We were almost teary-eyed when we saw the brave dog trying to live despite its injuries.'

The father and son gave the dog some snacks, which it seemed satisfied with and bounded away.
