  • Names include Huckleberry, Benny, Derek, Otis and two Sawyers

Thirty-nine dogs of different breeds jump joyfully into a swimming pool as they cool off at a doggy day care in adorable footage.

The 20ft by 40ft bone-shaped pool is located at the Lucky Puppy center in Maybee, Michigan.

It has a very shallow end for the more shy or vertically challenged pups, where the water barely reaches above their paws.

'I love pool time with the dogs, nothing is better than seeing them all "let their hair down" and just enjoy life,' said day care owner Brenda Langley, 60.

'We have a swimming pool because I grew up with a pool and I feel every "kid" should grow up with a pool.

'I can't imagine a childhood without a swimming pool, and these guys are just a bunch of kids that want to have fun.'

In the video, taken on July 8, the dogs bark and frolic as they jump in and out of the blue waters.

A voice behind the camera names some of the dogs as they dive: Huckleberry. Benny, Derek and Otis, who appears to have a toy stuck in his bottom teeth.

'It won't hurt him, but it happens,' Langley says.

There are also two Sawyers staying with them at the same time.

'One that likes to bark and one that likes to dive,' she explains.

'One we call Soy Sauce.'

Langley had the in-ground pool built after seeing how much they enjoyed her own above-ground pool.

'After I replaced the liner a couple of times, I decided to give them a pool of their own,' she said.

'The swimming pool was built with the dogs in mind but I knew they wouldn't mind sharing.'

Keeping the pool clean is a challenge with Langley's team sweeping it for an hour every morning, and strong filters working hard 24/7 to keep the water clear.

The facility, about 45 miles southwest of Detroit, features six acres of playground space and seven acres of nature trails.

The furry 'guests' sleep in personal bedrooms with blankets and CDs playing calming music.

Langley says swimming is good for the dogs both physically and psychologically, though the videos may also help any humans who comes across them.

'I have had so many people write to me and tell me that it's the only thing that has made them smile in X amount of time because of personal challenges that they had been through,' she said.

'I have also had many teachers tell me that they use our videos as a reward to their children, at the end of the day. I love that!'
